Naples Artist to Donate Percentage of Art Print Sales to Community Park Foundation

Naples Artist to Donate Percentage of Art Print Sales to Community Park Foundation.

Mascot Painting to be unveiled Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

Kevin Harwood, well known Finger Lakes artist, has announced that his newest egg tempera painting, simply entitled, “Naples, New York” will be available as a fine quality art print and a percentage of sales from these prints will be donated to the Naples Community Park Foundation.

“Naples and the surrounding area provide me with such inspiration that I wanted to give back in a way that would benefit the entire community,” said Kevin Harwood. “Not only will a percentage of art print sales be donated to the Park Foundation, but I also intend to dedicate this painting to the community as the Mascot Painting for Naples.”

“The Naples Community Park is always in need of financial support so I was thrilled when Kevin contacted us,” said Brenda Keith, President of the Naples Community Park Foundation. “There are many important projects we’d like to complete, not to mention the cost of maintenance and upkeep and I believe the sales of these wonderful prints can help us achieve those goals.”

Naples is home to many creative people and the Naples, New York painting represents this artist’s contribution to help with the ongoing challenge of raising funds for the Naples Community Park.

The official unveiling and dedication of the new painting will take place at a special media reception on July 7, 2010 at 3 p.m at Dallywater’s Tea Room & Art Gallery in Naples, New York.

About Kevin Harwood

The Finger Lakes, and the Naples Valley in particular, inspire Kevin Harwood to look beyond that which is merely seen. Within the dramatic landscapes, the colorful characters, the history and the beauty, he finds an energy and emotion that influences the way he interprets each subject. Kevin returned to fine art after many years in England where he worked as an art director and designer. Having been accustomed to the pressure of meeting tight deadlines, he was drawn to the peaceful contrast of the egg tempera process. His work is held in private and public collections in America, England, and Europe. Recent works for sale are exhibited at Dallywater’s in Naples, NY and also at Finger Lakes Gallery and Frame in Canandaigua, NY.

About The Naples Community Park

Just a vision ten years ago, The Naples Community Park became a reality through the steadfast dedication, and hard work of countless volunteers from the Naples community and surrounding area. Under the guidelines of the Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Naples and funded through generous donations and grants, the Community Park is the realization of many dedicated, forward-thinking individuals. Once a cornfield, the Community Park serves residents of all ages who enjoy the sports fields, walking trails, disc golf course, natural beauty, benches and more. The Community Park is a jewel in the heart of the Naples Valley.
